This Red Rock Canyon landscape painting is an example of how a piece can evolve on the canvas,  ending up looking very different from how this painting began.   Created from memories of driving through Red Rock Canyon, Oregon and surrounding areas in 2003.   Like Mother Nature herself, the painting kept changing and shifting until I  knew I was finished.

 

The reds, oranges, and greens against a striking blue sky, the abundance of wildlife, the hoodoo formations and the sheer beauty of the place has stayed with me to this day.
